About Us

Hales Freight started business in Liverpool in 1975. The company began shipping their own trailers with their own drivers straight to Dublin, which then delivered direct to the customer the next day. No one else was doing this in the mid 70’s, and consequently Hales Freight quickly gained a reputation for a reliable and cost-effective Freight forwarder specialising in an overnight groupage service.

This groupage service to Ireland and Northern Ireland expanded very quickly. Following ongoing success, Hales Freight opened a brand new 2 acre site in Widnes to service all it’s customers from around the Lancashire, Leeds, and North East areas.

In 2000, Hales Freight opened a new site in the West Midlands and followed this up in 2008 with the unveiling of a new 35,000sq ft Dublin depot to receive and distribute the shipments for our UK clients to everywhere in Ireland.

Now with depots in Liverpool, the West Midlands, London, Dublin and Belfast Hales Freight provide a total groupage service for the whole of the UK and Ireland.

Hales Freight are in business for over 40 years because, according to the CEO Francis Egan, one thing has remained constant: “We are committed to giving you our customer the very best service at the very best price”.
